Stop Hackers on Facebook: Change This Setting ASAP

In case you don’t know, most of what we view or send over the Internet (Web sites and e-mail) can be easily viewed by any random hacker unless you’re using a secured connection.  Most sites are viewed using what’s called a basic HTTP connection, which is an acronym for Hypertext Transfer Protocol.  However, some sites are secured, such as online banking sites, online stores, etc.  If you look up at the address bar on the top of your browser/screen, you’ll know a site is secured when it reads HTTPS instead of HTTP.  The “S” stands for secure.

Which brings us to Facebook.  Until this week, according to Gawker.com, Facebook was using only a regular old HTTP connection.  However, they’ve just introduced the ability to sign in on Facebook with an HTTPS connection.
